Came out really REALLY good for a first time user....Instructions were easy... I was definitely nervous using a new product... I has no reaction or stinging or anything negative.. The color has sheen... Maybe it was the shampoo and conditioner too... The instructions said there would be two pairs of gloves and there were only one pair.. The other negative is that they said to use these large clips to separate your hair.. They should include those clips for first time users.. Especially during the pandemic.. I cant go shopping... I used my toddler grandchildren's clips and had to throw them away after... All in all, it will be easier the next time.. Very nice colour, but too gold.The set and the instructions were all very professionally done. I've been coloring my hair for a very long time and have used professional color my Swiss hairdresser gave me. Although a bit more gold than requested (I like and prefer ashy), the color is natural looking, but didn't accomplish what I wanted. I specifically indicated that I wanted to create 'lowlights' in my whitish-blonde hair. While difficult for a non-professional to accomplish, I've done this before. The customized instructions were for doing only the roots. That is the opposite of what I intended, because roots produce a grow-out phase and an ugly line. My hairdresser counseled against that. The color would have worked for only roots. Because the color looked so incredibly dark while processing, I may not have left it on long enough. There is very little contrast. Great Service, Poor ResultsFrom start to finish, the esalon process felt smooth, streamlined, and easy. The colour I selected after the quiz was exactly what I was looking for, and the formulation and shipping were super quick. I also got updates at every step along the way, which was great. The package that came contained everything needed, with clear, easy-to-follow instructions, and nice little touches like your name on the bottle and a sticker to hang the instruction pamphlet while you work. Unfortunately, the only negative part of the process was the colour itself, which is kind of a big deal. I was given two different formulations for roots and ends, and the result was supposed to be an intense copper (natural redhead). What actually happened was that my roots now barely look any different from the natural medium/ash blonde I started with, and my lengths/ends look a completely different colour. But not even the colour I was hoping for - it turned out more of an Auburn, with a weird pink overtone to the copper that almost looks more like rose gold than copper/red. I was very careful to follow instructions and times; I wasn't expecting perfect salon quality results, but I was certainly expecting better than this. The result I got is not a terrible colour, and the roots being different almost looks like a balayage. My hair isn't ruined, and as far as the condition, it still feels nice. However, it is not even close to what I wanted and I'm very disappointed how far off the mark this colour is. I could have gotten a closer/more even result if I stuck with a standard box. At the end of the day, no matter how great the rest of the experience was, this was a waste of time and money and I'm still left needing to correct my colour. 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
