Good Color for ComplexionHave received wonderful compliments on the color, a soft brown works very well for the '60ish' group. Beyond impressed!I have done my own "at home" hair color with products from the beauty supply store for about 8 years and I honestly didn't expect this to be any different than that at all. I was pleasantly surprised when I received my kit and even more aww struck when I finished the application! Not only am I saving money on the product that is custom designed for my hair goals and needs, but it's the BEST my hair color has ever been even from the salon! Comparison to Madison ReedI have to say that I like the overall outcome of the eSalon product. However, I did not like the smell! It came across as a harsh product by the smell and felt like I was putting a lot of chemicals on my head (probably was :(). I did not experience this with Madison Reed whose product was pleasant to smell. Now as to the color, much prefer eSalon. Madison Reed's product continued to wash out with every shampoo even though it was a permanent color. I have washed my hair for the first time since coloring with eSalon and there wasn't even a tint of color that came out of my hair :). Within 2-3 weeks of coloring with Madison Reed, I was a washed out version of my original color. Both seemed to cover gray well. A wet drippy super stain mess.My first prdee was perfect. I was so happy I immediately went to auto ship. The second set was awful. Drip, stain mess! Awful.
