Dissapointed in colorI have always done my hair blonde and I think I had that down pretty well. I decided to switch to a copper red color recently and I am learning all over again. The first few times I did it, my roots processed much quicker than the rest of my hair causing bright red roots and much faded for the rest of my hair. So I started processing the lengths of my hair and then adding it to the roots in the last couple minutes to avoid the “hot roots”. This was the perfect solution but I still hadn’t found the perfect color so I decided to try e-salon. When the stylist gave me a call, she gave me instructions to process the roots first and for longest, and then the roots. When I explained my hot roots, she assured me that wouldn’t be the case with the e-salon color and told me I had to do the roots first (and for longer) and then the ends. She also helped me choose a color. I told her I wanted a pretty fall copper red color (warm but not too bright). The color I was sent was fairly dull, not a warm/bright copper color. I did love the packaging and presentation and have wanted to try the color revive (I think that’s the name?) but I am wary after this experience. I have since used another brand with better luck. I also noticed that the e-salon color was very difficult to rinse out and left a sticky film on my hair. 1 of 2 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

PerfectI’ll never use shop bought dyes again. This looks more natural in colour and you can always tweak it to your liking. 1 of 1 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

A great change from store purchased products! This is certainly a "New Age" change to have your hair color customized. They ask a good amount of questions to understand what your looking for in a hair color. This really helps to achieve the color you longed for. They are readily available if you have a question you just call the toll free number. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is the smell is very strong and that reminded me of over the counter hair coloring products. 0 of 1 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

Injured myself trying to get the bottle openI've used e-salon a couple of times (this may literally be the second time). I had a vague memory that the color was difficult to open, but it didn't deter me from purchasing again. My experience this time will make me think twice and most likely not purchase again. I get that when shipping chemicals through the mail you're going to want a tight seal. But this was ridiculous. I got a 2 step kit. I had to work the lid on the color for Step 1 for a while, but I eventually got it open. I was twisting the lid so hard that when it did eventually come off color splattered all over me and my bathroom. It was annoying, but no biggie. I wiped it up and got on with it. Step 2 is where things went from annoying to absurd. I could not, for the life of me, get the lid off of the color. I had 15 minutes to get ready for Step 2. I was not able to get the lid off in that time frame. I tried gloves on, gloves off, and using a towel for traction. This was all at about 6 am. Its now 10 am and my left hand is bruised and swollen from trying to get the damn thing open. After my 15 minutes were up I resorted to other measures. I went for the tool box, which I luckily had pulled out for a different reason last night. Pliers had no effect. I eventually grabbed a screwdriver and a hammer and broke the lid apart like I was chiseling a sculpture. Naked. In my bathroom. Panicking because I thought I was going to work with brown streaks all over my head. Now I'm sitting at work with a swollen hand and great hair color. The only reason for my 2 stars is that the color is lovely. But the aggravation has made me consider paying 10 times as much at a salon. 3 of 4 people found this review helpful. Did you? |
