No better then normal hair dyeI have used this twice now, and can say it is definitely not worth it. None of the times I managed to get an even colour on the length of my hair, despite following the instructions. The colour fades significantly after 5-6 washes, although chosen a permanent one. The only plus it has compared to the normal dye you would buy in a shop, is that when colour fades, it is a more natural look. Doesn’t cover the grayIt’s a great product but it doesn’t cover the gray. The color so was matched with was lovely but it barely worked on my roots. The company sent me a replacement that was a darker color. I had the same problem! I followed the instructions to the tee. Unfortunately, it did not work. Nor did they stand by their 100% guarantee. DissapointingThe colour didn't take to my greys. I had sent pictures in of my hair before and asked advice and stylist advised 6 (as chosen) would work. Left it on for the full time as per instructions. I had explained i wanted a root smudge, but there were no instructions for this part just apolication to roots only, if i had done this, i would have had a band, as i have highlights midlengths to ends, so i expected there to be instructions for blending. I had to do this by google and thankfully managed to successfully blend with no banding into my highlights but have been left with my greys still showing through on my roots. I sent a note through explaining all this and requested a refund as i have now had to book into a salon to sort it, but i have had no reply. Received it after more than a month….I received my order after more than a month, and the box was completely torn apart and damaged as well as the supplies inside. When I contacted customer support before I receive the package, they told me that I would have to talk to my local postal carrier and that it wasn’t their problem. If you’re going to be a hair product shipping service you probably should have reliable shipping. They did offer to send another box but at that point I wasn’t interested. Red-ish tintI chose this color in the believe that it would match my own dishwater ashy medium blonde. It was the coolest medium blonde in the chart. It has a distinct red tint though, which made my regrown roots seem even more grey than before. paper cap on developer still not firmly attachedI have used these products for many years now. However, in the last year the paper seal on the developer has often lacked a tight seal causing the products to develop too fast once mixed. Recently, my formula was changed to develop slower and adjust darker to prevent it turning red and washing out after one or two washes. This has helped, but the last bottle of developer was not tightly sealed which once again affected the final color. Demi-permanentI chose the demi-permanent hair color and while it gave a nice color for about a week, it quickly faded. I wash my hair every 2 days and after 8 washes, it significantly lost color and my old highlights started showing through. Mixed ReviewI had high hopes for this product. It definitely delivered in being the most gentle hair color I’ve ever used. No bad smell, relatively easy to apply and gentle on my hair. However, I was not satisfied with the root coverage. Most of my roots were still gray even after strictly following the instructions. The color I chose, a dark brown/purple tone had way too much red which led to brassy color where I part my hair on top. Does not lastI have enjoyed getting my hair color to what I desire and the stylists have been great adjusting my color however it does not last. Still too copper redI have uploaded two photos to show the tint of the color … the photo with the really long hair is from years ago at the end of the summer after my color had lightened and it is still darker than the second photo I uploaded tonight. I love the shine and coverage of the color but I wanted to go dark chestnut brown to cover the brassy copper red from the last color I was sent. Doesn't cover my most stubborn grays.My gray hair is primarily in the front of my ears. No matter how long I leave the brown dye on, when the shampoo is over, the hair in this area is not brown like the rest of my hair. It's a very weak shade of brown that's mostly gray. Cancelled subscriptionI have just cancelled my subscription. A very convoluted process to do so. It is hard to find where to even start and it takes around 6 different clicks. Clearly set up to try to trick you into staying which left a very bad taste in my mouth. Also postage of £5.95 is insane - the method they use, Royal Mail 48 Tracked, is £3.55 for this weight. DisappointedThe colourist has made the roots colour and ends colour two different colours my roots are more natural ginger brown and my ends have patchy vibrant red throughout it. I have noted this on my previous order that both the roots and ends colour would need to be the same and coloured my hair today to see my long hair patchy throughout. Purple?My colour set was supposed to be dark brown (red copper). Not at all delighted to have followed instructions, and end up with magenta roots wherever I had grey, and then no evident colour on the rest of my hair. The top of my hair has ridiculous purple streaks that abruptly stop, and then my regular colour starts. Charged without authorisationJust phoned customer services to stop an order that I did not authorise for £71 (hair dye and other hair products). They responded with that's it's too late to cancel as the items are already shipped and it will be at my expense to return the product. I have previously tried to cancel these products but it's near impossible on the website, and you can only delay, for these dates to creep up and you get charged again. I explained this, and the customer services were less than helpful so when I explained that I'll be writing a review on how customers are held ransom to maintain orders without authorisation or an ability to cancel online, her response was "you do that". I was going to keep ordering the hair dye, but after this response, I absolutely will find an alternative option as this isn't an inexpensive product. Not as good as it use to beMy last order was really bad. It barely lasted 8 days and I didn't wash it after dyeing it. My white hairs were still lighter then the rest of my hair. The color seemed darker then usual. The color didn't seem to attach to the white strands. The dye rubbed off on my silk pillowcase. I did receive a free box, not sure if that was the problem, but I have noticed in the past 2 years the dye now barely lasts 2 weeks and the color doesn't adhere to the grey as well as it use to. Think carefully and research before you buy!For the second time I have had my hair ruined by eSalon, I expected the colour I chose to be lighter than my natural dark brown. Not only did it not lighten my hair at all it left a red tinge on it, certainly not the golden brown colour shown on the website. Had I previously dyed my hair I could perhaps understand, but my hair was completely natural, the company is not transparent about the products and gives expectations they have no hope of achieving. I was told after contacting them that my hair will not lift using the colour as it is dark brown, why oh why then are they offering me a colour that has no hope of working! Good product, decent service, but not what I expectedI have been struggling to figure out what score to give to this review. Yes the product is great. It left my hair shiny and healthy but the biggest issue is that it made my hair darker and I never wanted my hair to go darker. So now my very long virgin hair has been messed up because either I have to use a colour remover, wait for it to wash out or get highlights The original solutions given by the colorist were not great to be honest and also when I asked a direct question of what type of colour was I supposed to be getting I never got a real reply. It has still not explained to me why my hair ended up being so much darker when theoretically I went for a colour that it’s lighter than my natural hair colour so maybe if you want to darken your hair this is a great product. If you wanna go lighter, I will have my reservations. Something went wrong and I still cannot figure out where it went wrong. Would I try it again? Probably not. Do I regret it? Not really? Not satisfied at all.I didn't have any colour on my hair, I was asking for a lighter, ash colour. However the end result was a lighter colour with orange / red effect. I said okay, I will give a second chance, asked them to make it lighter with ash. I also attached photos. They said it can be a bit lighter but not much. Totally disappointedI ordered this looking at all.the reviews online and was very excited to see my customized package with even my name on it. I followed the instructions and mixed the color and the developer in the bottle and shaked vigorously. Meanwhile i was tying my hair and getting ready to apply and next thinkninsee the bottle bulged and it started foaming and that was the beginning of my disappointment. After catching up the overflowed one and the remaining in container i started applying, as i have long hair i took an hour to finish it. As instructed left it for 30 mts and wahed it. No changeI wanted to try this as it seems better quality than the regular box dye from the supermarket market - and while the package was layed out beautifully, there was absolutely no change to the colour of my hair. I asked for dark brown ash and specified that I wanted the red tinge gone (hence the ash) but it’s still there - potentially even more prominent. I strictly followed all instructions. Cost issue.I love the product and I needed the large bottle the first time I purchased to fix a colour mistake. This time though, I just need to do my roots and it’s nearly £30 for a whole bottle to use maybe a 1/3 of it?! It’ll last a couple of weeks before I need to purchase again. So I won’t be purchasing again unless esalon introduce a roots only option for a much lower cost AND the delivery price really needs looked at. £6 for standard delivery and £10 if it’s express which still takes a couple of days is really not good enough. great concept, lackluster resultsI love the idea of a custom at-home hair dye, but the results left something to be desired. I selected the dye I wanted but was told that it was too far from my natural color and that I should select something more subtle. My intention was to go darker so it’s not as if there was bleach involved. I followed eSalon’s guidance and went with a color closer to my natural hair and the result was hardly noticeable. Furthermore, it lasted maybe three or four washes before completely washing out. I did select a Demi dye, which I’ve done at the salon in the past, so I knew it would fade gradually, but it was SO temporary. I also typically have super shiny hair after getting it dyed at the salon or with other at-home dyes, but that was not the case here. My hair felt a bit gritty even after thoroughly washing the dye out. I want to love this so much and would maybe give it another go with a new color and permanent formula, but for now I think I’ll suck it up and shell out some $$$ at the salon to get my preferred color for the holidays. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Not good!My hair is bright red just at the ends. Not sure what happened as this never occurred before! I been using this product for several years. It actually happened again but it much worse now! Nothing like the colour requested!Followed the instructions step by step and sent in a photo and description of my desired colour which was an auburn. I specifically said I do not want it red. So now my hair is very dull looking and red - like someone has coloured it with a crayon. I didn’t even take up the offer of a free replacement it’s that bad! 1 of 1 people found this review helpful. Not sure why, but color was differentI have been using the same color set for more than 2 years, so I do know what my tone looks like after I retouch it every 6 weeks. Great coverage. Poor hair conditionI’ve used box dye for years and thought I’d try esalon. Since using it my hair is in poor condition. Now my hair is knotty, tangles easily and my curl clumps are no longer fat and juicy. I’ve tried deep conditioning and a protein treatment with minimal results. Won't Order AgainI love this company's hair color. It colors evenly and is easy to use. But as for there customer service is horrible. I can't get a simple question answered! PoorI was sent black like I asked for but once I had put the colour on my roots went ginger not the black it says I've had to go to a salon to have this corrected though I was cutting the cost using salon but I've now had to pay out for this to be corrected at a salon 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.
